Light of Christ Catholic Schools is excited to announce our Tuition Raffle as part of this year’s Saints Ball. The prize for winning is a tuition credit for one (1) student for the 2023-24 academic year. The value of the prize will vary, based on the tuition rate of the student to whom the award is applied.
The winner will be drawn on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 8:30 p.m. at the Saints Ball. The ticket holder does not need to be present at the drawing to win.
FAQ’s Q. Who can buy tickets? A. The raffle is open to anyone 18 or older who would like to purchase a ticket, regardless of if they have an affiliation with Light of Christ Catholic Schools. The tuition prize can only be used for students enrolled in the 2023-24 academic year. Q. How can I purchase tickets? A. Raffle tickets can be purchased at each Light of Christ Catholic Schools office or at the Mission Advancement Office at 1025 N 2nd St (lower level). Q. How will the raffle benefit Light of Christ Catholic Schools? A. The proceeds from this raffle will benefit the Light of Christ Catholic Schools tuition assistance program. Q. Raffle tickets may be purchased for $20 at every Light of Christ school or the Mission Advancement office.
Light of Christ Catholic Schools Mission Advancement Team and Saints Ball Auction Chairs are not eligible to win.
The prize is a tuition credit for one (1) student to attend Light of Christ Catholic Schools during the 2023-24 academic year (not to exceed $5,000.00).
The raffle prize must be applied to a family’s tuition obligation at Light of Christ Catholic Schools for one (1) student’s tuition for the 2023-24 academic year. Any additional student fees and AP/College course fees will still be the winner’s obligation.
In the event the winning ticket holder has already completed payment of their tuition obligation for the 2023-24 school year, the winning ticket holder may apply the previous payment to charges for Light of Christ Catholic Schools activities and fees and receive a refund of the balance that had been paid toward tuition, or may request a full refund of the previously made payment.
The cost of a raffle ticket is not tax-deductible.
No refund or compensation will be provided if the winning ticket holder withdraws a student at Light of Christ Catholic Schools for the 2023-24 academic year or if the student completes only part of the 2023-24 academic year.
Prize winnings are considered taxable income; accordingly, the individual winner will be issued a W-2G in January 2024. The winner must provide Light of Christ Catholic Schools a completed and signed Form 5754 before the proceeds will be credited to a student’s account.
The winning ticket holder may opt to transfer the prize to another family that has a student enrolled at Light of Christ Catholic Schools for the 2023-24 academic year.
If the winning ticket holder does not have a student enrolled at Light of Christ Catholic Schools for the 2023-24 academic year, then the winning ticket holder may transfer the prize to another eligible family that has a student enrolled at Light of Christ Catholic Schools for the 2023-24 academic year.
Any tax obligations related to the prize will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
In the event that the winning ticket holder is eligible for financial assistance for the 2023-24 academic year, the prize will be applied BEFORE tuition assistance is offered.
Raffle ticket purchases are available only to those persons 18 years or older.
Each ticket shall represent an equal opportunity to win the raffle.
The winning ticket will be selected on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at SMCHS at 8:30 p.m.
The winner will be notified by phone and/or email after the drawing.
All proceeds of the raffle are for the benefit of Light of Christ Catholic Schools, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization registered with the ND Secretary of State.
