COVID-19 Coronavirus has changed our lives.
It has not changed our mission.
On March 25, Light of Christ Catholic Schools launched a Distance Learning Plan for all grades, Pre-K through High School. Our Distance Learning Plan is a Monday-Thursday digital classroom. Students will NOT be expected to check in for attendance on Friday. Students may work on assignments on Friday, but nothing will be assigned or due. Teachers will be using their time that day for professional development meetings, planning assignments for the next week and grading.
Teachers will be online and available to connect with students Monday-Thursday, 9am - 2pm. Students will be allowed to work on their assignments online at any time throughout the day. Attendance will be recorded once per day for elementary and Academy, Monday - Thursday. SMCHS students will need to check into each of their classes daily, Monday - Thursday.
EDUCATIONAL PLATFORMS
Pre-K through Grade 1 will be using Class Dojo.
Grades 2-12 will be using Google Classroom.
ROLE OF PARENTS
Your role as a parent is to guide your child and help them access their educational platform and resources. The teachers will provide all of the online curriculum and educational resources that your students will need.
IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK OR GONE FOR A SCHOOL DAY:
It will be important for you to continue to notify your school if your child is sick or not attending distance learning for the day.
